In this issue, we talk about:
Spending money on backlinks? Is it worth it? (what do I buy?)
A short update about my projects, what’s new?
6 fresh backlinks opportunities, 5 free & paid dofollow links, and 1 nofollow
Let's go!
A. Spending money on backlinks
My recent tweet about how I’m spending money includes backlink expenses.
When I prepare my backlink strategy I also think about paid listings. That’s because they give you more exposure, traffic, and better placements for your dofollow links. You get more juice and faster to improve your authority. Platforms that offer paid listings are less spammed than those where you can submit for free.
In the examples below you can find a platform that listed me on their homepage with a direct dofollow link for some cash.
What types of backlinks do I purchase?
I will go for links that cost me less than $100, and offer me better exposure, traffic/visibility. For example, I love how ramen.tools and IndiePage offer links for multiple projects for a lifetime fee. I like to have a backlink from a website homepage or an established page, indexed, with traffic. For better exposure (think sponsored ads, a higher audience) I will spend more than $100.
What type of backlinks do I avoid?
I avoid paid articles, either from a blog or a news website. These are most times more expensive and provide little to low exposure. The articles are not indexed and you have to put in extra work to index them.
Exceptions are a blogger influencer with high traffic and an audience in your niche! and press releases where you submit to multiple websites for a smaller fee.
For example, I’ve read recently that sites like Dailymail currently ask for thousands or tens of thousands for an article (not worth it) and that doesn’t even get you on the news stream (it’s buried somewhere in the website).
In my emails (including this one) I will share links I’m buying for my projects. And it won’t be just a few. My target is a DA/DR of around 30 for my directories. That will require some backlinking, both free and paid.
B. Update about my projects:
Business Directory Sites is growing.
I managed to add another ~200 directories, so it has now no less than 306. That’s more than any similar project I know. I will add more, in time, but I’m satisfied with the number, for now. I think it brings value to people who want to build backlinks. They browse the directory, choose the ones they see fit for their project, and submit. Many of the backlinks are dofollow.
As for the submission service, I’m not ready to provide that, currently. I will redirect visitors to another service I know and I trust. Why? Now, I’m in the building phase. If I start with the services I’ll mess up everything. After I’m done building I will revisit this decision.
The download files will be available for a fee and I will probably have two options:
» The 300+ curated directories with DA, spam score, and other info $67
» A mega list of 1500-2000 directories, not curated, for $47
There will be no paid or free listings as I want to control the quality of the directories listed.
Project King (codename for my TOP-SECRET directory) is coming soon. I’m in the final days/weeks of setting everything up. This one has legs to go viral, and I will promote it with paid ads and listings.
